DIRECTOR, PRODUCER

Sara Archambault is a Creative Producer dedicated to the practice of artful nonfiction storytelling. She has an extensive professional history in production, programming and foundation work, including 10 years as Program Director at the LEF Foundation, and 9 years as Founder/Programmer of the award-winning documentary film series The DocYard. Past producing credits include Emmy-nominated documentary Traces of the Trade, Street Fighting Men, Truth or Consequences, and RIOTSVILLE, USA. Sara's work has shown in festivals around the world and received support from the Sundance Film Institute, Tribeca Film Institute, SFFILM, Catapult Film Fund, IDA, Hot Docs Pitch Forum, and Film Independent among others. She was a 2020 Impact Partners Producing Fellow, a 2013 Sundance Creative Producers Lab Fellow and was named the 2020 SF DocFest Vanguard Awardee. She is a board member of The Flaherty.

SARA ARCHAMBAULT

DIRECTOR, PRODUCER

Margo Guernsey is a documentary Director/Producer, impact strategist, and founder of Time Travel Productions LLC. Her first feature,
Councilwoman (America ReFramed 2019), won multiple awards. Prior to film, Margo worked as a union organizer, non-profit development director, and Spanish/English translator. She holds an MFA in Film (University of Miami), MA in History (Umass/Amherst), and a BA in History (Brown University). Margo’s work has received support from Chicken & Egg Pictures, ITVS, Catapult Film Fund, GoodPitch, the Democracy Fund and the Surdna Foundation, among others. She speaks both Spanish and English, and she is a proud Mama of two young children, navigating motherhood, as an adoptive and biological mother, in a bicultural Dominican/American multi-generational household. Margo is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Documentary Producers Association.

  • Lynn True

    EDITOR

    Lynn True is a documentary filmmaker and editor, and co-founder of True Walker Productions. Her films include LUMO (PBS/P.O.V. 2007), SUMMER PASTURE (PBS/Independent Lens 2012), and SUMMER PASTURE which was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award, an IFP Gotham Award, and won a Peabody Award. Her last film, IN TRANSIT, is a documentary portrait of America as seen through the stories of passengers aboard the country’s busiest long-distance train route. IN TRANSIT premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival where it won the Special Jury Prize and was later nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Direction from the Cinema Eye Honors. Lynn graduated from Brown University with a joint degree in Urban Studies and Architecture and lives in New York.

  • Maida Lynn

    EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

    Maida Lynn is the founder of Genuine Article Pictures, a production company that supports non-fiction filmmakers with unique visions who push the form into new directions. She executive produced THE SEND-OFF (Sundance '16, SFIFF, SXSW, AFI Fest), and co-produced THE RABBIT HUNT (Sundance and Berlinale '17) and ROADSIDE ATTRACTION (TIFF, SXSW). Maida is the producer of the short film SKIP DAY, which premiered at the Directors' Fortnight and was released by The Guardian. Her credits as Executive Producer include Sam Green's live documentary, A THOUSAND THOUGHTS (Sundance '17), THE HOTTEST AUGUST (True/False '19), and TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES (Rotterdam '20). The feature documentary Maida produced, PAHOKEE, premiered at Sundance 2019. Maida proudly serves on the board of directors of The Roxie Theater in San Francisco, CA.

  • Peter Scartabello

    COMPOSER

    Peter Scartabello is a composer of more than 100 musical works for film, TV and the concert stage. His music has premiered in the US, France, Poland and Canada. He has worked with filmmakers from the US, India, Russia, Sweden and Norway. The film Russian Lessons (2010) by Andrei Nekrasov and Olga Konskaya was shown at Sundance and nominated for the Grand Jury Prize for best documentary. Most recently, Gulabi Gang (2012) by Nishtha Jain, which he also scored, won the Muhr Asia/Africa Award for Best Documentary at the Dubai International Film Festival. It also won the Golden Chair Award for Best Documentary at the Norwegian Film Festival.

  • Alice Quinlan

    IMPACT & ENGAGEMENT CONSULTANT,
    RED OWL

    Alice is an impact and engagement consultant with more than ten years of experience using storytelling to drive social change. At Red Owl, she leads campaigns with responsive strategies and an eye for creative partnerships and community-based work. Previously, as the Director of Community Engagement and Education at POV, Alice developed strategic national engagement campaigns for POV documentaries, produced resources around POV's features, shorts and digital projects, and facilitated 700+ free screenings nationwide every year with her team. Prior to joining POV in 2014, she founded the KRTS Youth Media Project in Marfa, TX, a part of PBS Student Reporting Labs. Recent and current projects include: Storm Lake, Abortion Helpline: This is Lisa and Belly of the Beast.

  • Eliza Licht

    IMPACT & ENGAGEMENT CONSULTANT,
    RED OWL

    Eliza has been working in the social-issue documentary field for 20 years as an engagement strategist, impact producer, and television executive. She works closely with clients to develop their goals and vision for engagement and impact to maximize the impact and visibility of their films. At Red Owl, she creates and executes campaigns that implement overall strategy, partnership development, the production of high-quality educational resources, as well as tracking, measuring, and evaluating impact. Before Red Owl, Eliza spent 17 years building and expanding the community engagement and education department at the PBS documentary series POV. As Vice President of Content Strategy and Engagement, she set priorities and direction for the organization, along with EPs and fellow executive staff, oversaw the Community Engagement, Communication, and Programs departments, worked closely with the programming team on series selection, and spearheaded broadcast campaigns for over 250 films. Under Licht’s leadership, POV saw a 1000% increase in events, including over 800 screenings annually, and over 46,000 direct engagements with in-person audience members. Eliza has served on juries for DOC NYC, Hot Springs Film Festival, and Brooklyn Film Festival, and on funding panels for the National Endowment of the Arts, Black Public Media, and the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage.

  • Jessica Akpan

    SOCIAL MEDIA DIRECTOR,
    WEALTH AGENCY

    Jessica Akpan is the founder of Wealth Agency, a marketing & consulting agency specializing in social media, content & strategy for films and organizations using their work to drive positive social & cultural change. Jessica has collaborated with Impact Teams, Influencers, and Companies including Fox, POV, PBS, Tribeca Film Festival, Hot Docs, BET and Hulu. Her social media marketing for documentary film THROUGH THE NIGHT (Tribeca Film Festival 2020) won 16 Gold & Silver International Davey Awards in categories including Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion; Copywriting; Public Service & Activism; Best Social Presence; Events; Best Use of Graphics; and Entertainment & News for Social, among others. Jessica has a strong background in film and has produced over 50 short films and worked as a production assistant on BALLET NOW (2018) on Hulu. She holds an MBA from Villanova University and dual degrees in Film & Television Production and Political Science from Loyola Marymount University.
